Your colors really glow--what's the trick to that? I noticed someone using a similar technique/style of coloring at http://www.nibbledpencil.com , I'm interested in what the theory behind it is.
For some reason this looks like a nasty Swedish pancake to me (Nasty because it does not belong in a cardboard box), with lingonberry sauce.... the sauce looks extremely sad because it reminds me of the jelly sandwich from the graphic novel "Mother Come Home."
As for the colors, I don't know that there's a single theory, but I think you get that particular effect from keeping all the colors throughout the value range very warm, which involves moving the hues towards yellow as the values get lighter and towards red as the values get darker. Also saturating the colors on the edges between light and shadow I guess.
