Messing around with photoshop layers for fun, and it started looking Matrix-y. So I went with it.

I like the overall world and premise of the Matrix movies, but I was disappointed by "Reloaded". Apparently I just don't get it. Why again is the One supposed to return to the source? So he can choose the future leaders of a new Zion? But why is it necessary to give him super-hero powers in order to do this? Wouldn't it just as logical, and more convenient, for the machines to use someone like Trinity or Morpheus to start a new Zion?

Help me out here, [livejournal.com profile] zeroparallax!

She's in oregeon with Andy visiting Mick & Mary. She won't be back until sunday night. Have you emailed her? I'll tell her to call you.

Ah so THAT is where she is! Thanks so much, J! I was starting to worry about her. I like your picture, by the way. It does look very Matrix-y. I got the impression that Neo was no more than another machine! How ELSE could he carry the "code" that would reboot the system?

I know what you mean about worrying. It sounds like she's having a nice time though.

Hi there.. Just happened to come across you entry..
so I thought I would explain it to you...he isn't given powers.. he represents the failure rate of the Matrix. (99.9% of all humans accept the program, but he is the .01% that doesn't) Because he doesn't accept the matrix his mind can over come it.. Basically he can do anything he believes he can do because his mind understands that none of it is real.

OK, that makes more sense regarding his abilities. Thanks for the clarification.

Re:

Hmmm.. Sorry.. Don't think I have a very logical explanation for that part. There really isn't an reason why he should defeat the sentinals. Maybe that part will make more sense after the next movies comes out.
