Wow! It's always a pleasure to see your art :)

I love the colors in the night scene, and that last bard-y guy has lots of personality. Great hands, too.

Are those last two illustrations of anything in particular?

They weren't based on any story or fiction, I just kind of made them up as I went along. So I guess they're not technically illustrations, just sketches for fun. Unfortunately I tend to freeze up if I think too much about actual storytelling.

Hi Great Work

My name is Tracy--I am Andrew's friend from school. I am really into your artwork; great illustration always amazes me and gets me excited for art. Are some of these images from your head, or are they all life/ photo references?? I really love the one at the bottom. I'm a second-year art student and I'm still torn between getting an illustration degree and a drawing/painting one. Some people tell me it doesnt even necessarily matter! Anyways, just posting to say I like your work.

Re: Hi Great Work

Hi and thank you! Some of them are digital sketches from life, like the portrait of Sarah, and the two office sketches, but most including the bottom one are out of my head.

So you are from Long Beach? Does Betty Edwards still teach there? I almost went there for for an illustration degree, but I missed the application deadline.
