So yeah, I had a really good time at comic-con, despite having the social skills of a barnacle. Mostly wandered around by myself since [livejournal.com profile] pawpad couldn't make it.

Managed to catch up with: the guys at Maverix studios, my rl collegues Dave and Gia, and [livejournal.com profile] snocat_ and Jeff. Saw Bill Koeb and George Pratt, who mentioned Walt Reed was going to publish a Harvey Dunn book pretty soon. Kent Williams was there, and I got a copy of Tell Me Dark. Also got Celia Calle's book, and Ronnie del Carmen and Enrico Casarosa's book as well.

I had promised [livejournal.com profile] pawpad that I would tell Jennifer Klein hi for her, but neither she nor [livejournal.com profile] icefox were at the Mike Kunkel booth when I came by. At the Pants Press table I picked up Wary Tales and [livejournal.com profile] verunne's and [livejournal.com profile] icefox's sketchbooks, where I was too shy to introduce myself, but was overjoyed to get a sketch from [livejournal.com profile] verunne anyway. Afterwards when I ran into Frank Cirocco I tried asking him for a sketch, and he gave me a look of death. I bitterly regret not seeing [livejournal.com profile] kozychan or Derek Kirk Kim.

Driving back north on the 5, I drove right past a brush fire just before coming out of the hills into the San Joachim Valley. In some places it had come right up to the freeway and eaten away the wooden struts of the siderails.

...And the sandwich in question.

gaah... I'm sorry, it won't happen again. Hopefully next year I'll get a sketchbook printed so I can trade.
